IB Middle Years Programme

The IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) offers students an opportunity to evolve into lifelong learners through a stimulating and challenging course of study. The MYP consists of eight subject groups integrated through key and related concepts and global contexts for learning. Students study language and literature, humanities, sciences, mathematics, language acquisition, arts, physical education and design. In their final year of the MYP, students undertake an independent ‘personal project’ to demonstrate the development of their skills and understanding throughout the programme. The MYP is centered on the student and the programme strives not only to develop the student’s mind through the various subjects that they study, but also, to develop the person as a whole providing opportunities for action and service. The programme empowers students to inquire into a wide range of issues and ideas of significance locally, nationally and globally. The result is young people who are creative, critical and reflective thinkers.
